Taiwanese content creation platform nets $16m in Dattoz-led series B funding

Kdan Mobile, a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, has raised US$16 million in a series B funding round led by Dattoz Partners. The early-stage investment firm has also earned a seat on Kdan Mobile’s board.

WI Harper Group, Taiwania Capital, and the Golden Asia Fund of Mitsubishi UFJ Capital also joined the Taiwan-headquartered company’s latest round.

Founded in 2009, Kdan Mobile provides digital productivity and content creation platforms. The fresh funds will be used to boost the development of its current enterprise offerings, which have over 200 million downloads.

“Currently, 30% of our revenue comes from Asia, with increasing demand for remote working solutions because of the pandemic,” Kenny Su, CEO and founder of Kdan Mobile, told Tech in Asia.

The firm’s e-signature solution is currently its strongest product, Su said. With demand for such products shooting up 511% during the pandemic, Kdan Mobile sees strong potential in this space and will look to capitalize on it by evaluating market opportunities in Asia.

“For example, in Taiwan, we have a dedicated sales operation that works across industries with customers,” Su explained. “While in Indonesia, our growth is mainly fueled by organic demand.”

Kdan’s other cloud-based products include a PDF reader, animation software, and a video editor.
