Creative Cubehead Ad. Pretty Cool?

cubeheadHow creative can a drink ad be?

Drench, the drink, leveraged the rubik’s cube recent boast in popularity to promote its product. A man with a seriously mixed up rubik head drank drench and managed to get his head back together. The message is easily understood after you catch the ad below.

The ad’s peculiar style captures our attention. At the end, it smoothly communicates its key product component – Its hydration capability. So far, the video has accumulated over six hundred thousand views on YouTube, not bad for a drink.

It’s a thin line between creativity and stupidity. On the flip side, viewers criticized the ad’s overly strange concept. The cubehead has somehow disgusted viewers, creating negative associations in consumers’ minds. It’s fun to watch but for some, the chopped head could be a little overwhelming.

Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure that its peculiar concept is huge contributing factor for its high view rate. If that’s really the case, it may not be good news for the company as negativity outweighs positivity. The associations formed probably wouldn’t spur purchases. People remember the brand for its strange viral ad, but not so much on the drink’s hydration function.
