Could a Chinese team win this year's League of Legends Worlds?

The League of Legends Season 4 World Championship will begin this Thursday afternoon, as the group stages get underway with the Group A and B matches in Taiwan. If the transplanted Chinese team LMQ counts, China has more teams with a shot at the title than any other region, but Korean teams are widely expected to walk away with the title.

The Chinese teams are EDG in Group A, Star Horn Royal Club in Group B, and OMG in Group C. Group C also has LMQ, a team of Chinese nationals who lived and competed in North America during this season.

Guangdong user:

This time I don’t dare hold out hope

UK mobile user:

SKT not making Worlds is an opportunity. Anyway, they’ve already become a second-rate team. Chinese teams don’t have much experience with [Samsung] White and Blue, but at least they won’t get 3-0’ed by SKT again.
