Comcept releases Mighty No. 9 documentary, Kickstarter funding period ends in 38 hours

Just a month ago, we were buzzing about how Keiji Inafune and the guys at Comcept were creating what could be the successor to Mega Man. And now, in around 38 hours at the time of writing, the Kickstarter funding period for Mighty No. 9 is coming to an end.

Just recently, Comcept and 2 Player Productions released a documentary about the creation of Mighty No. 9. It includes footage from the Comcept studio in the US as well as insights not only from Keiji Inafune himself, but also from the various people that have been working on the game such as game designer Naoya Tomita, lead character designer Kimo-Kimo, music director Manami Matsumae, developer Takuya Aizu, director Koji Imeda, and producer Yu “Nick” Yu to name a few.

The video shows us Mighty No.9 from different points of view and how the team is brought together by their love of game development and their experiences with Mega Man.

At the moment, 52,336 backers have raised $3,013,635 for Mighty No. 9, more than three times Comcept’s initial goal of $900,000. The game will be released on Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, XBOX 360 and Wii U; but if the team raises a total of $3,300,000, then the game will also make its way to Playstation 4 and XBOX One, as well as Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS if they raise $3,500,000.

Fans can help fund the project and reach the remaining stretch goals by pledging a minimum of $1 via the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter page. The Kickstarter funding period will end on October 1, 8:19PM EDT (October 2, 8:19AM SGT).
