“Caesar Sengupta, who has been leading Google’s efforts in payments and building products for the next generation of internet users, has resigned after about 15 years at the US company to start a new venture,” reported Bloomberg.
Details:
- The Singapore-based executive has worked as the vice president and general manager of payments and the Next Billion Users initiative at Google since 2018.
- His last day with the tech giant will be on April 30.
Context:
- Sengupta led several of Google’s investments in companies that include Gojek, the India-based Glance, Dunzo, and Reliance.
- He also contributed toward building company initiatives such as the Chrome OS, Google Pay, and Next Billion Users, among others, and he expects an additional billion people to start using internet for the first time by 2025.
