East Ventures, Surge lead Indonesian healthtech firm’s $4.3m seed round

Indonesian healthtech platform Diri Care secured US$4.3 million in seed funding in a round jointly led by East Ventures and Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia’s Surge program.

Angel investor Henry Hendrawan, who also serves as the independent commissioner of the Indonesia Healthcare Corporation, backed the round as well.

Diri Care aims to provide easy healthcare access to people in Indonesia, where there has typically been a shortage of doctors. The platform offers a digital clinic for users to seek treatment for skin, hair, and intimate health conditions.

The funds raised will be used to widen the firm’s market reach, as well as make improvements to its platform.

Founded by Christian Suwarna, Armand Amadeus, and Dr. Deviana Himawan, Diri Care launched the beta version of its platform in March this year and has since recorded over 13,000 consultations, according to a statement.
