Campus hiring firm CoCubes acquires Edcited for its tech mettle

Indian campus hiring platform CoCubes has acquired majority stake in Edcited, a startup providing tech tools for educational institutes. The financial terms of the deal are undisclosed.
Edcited offers cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools for educational institutions like schools, colleges, and coaching classes. For example, it has tools that give real time updates about students to parents, delivers curriculum, and also helps in managing operations. However, the company faced challenges pertaining to long sales cycles.
CoCubes works in an adjacent space. It has developed a platform for students to “follow” companies offering campus placements. The Linkedin-like product also allows them to share their resume with the firms. For recruiters, CoCubes offers tools to assess candidates, shortlist them, and coordinate interviews. They can also make an offer to the candidate chosen through the CoCubes tool.
“We have been working on making online assessments more scalable and secure. This acquisition [of Edcited] will strengthen our technology team,” says Harpreet Singh Grover, co-founder of CoCubes.
The company had earlier acquired S Quotient, a competence benchmarking and skill assessment firm. With it, recruiters can post their online assessment tests, making it easier to shortlist candidates.
CoCubes charges an annual fee from educational institutions on a per campus basis. The seven-year-old firm claims to serve over a million students from 2,600 colleges and has 450 recruiting firms on board.
It is backed by Ojas Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital fund based in India.
