Cloudflare launches Kitesurf browser for AI agents
Cloudflare, a US internet infrastructure provider, has launched Kitesurf, a cloud-hosted browser for AI agents. It is available free in beta through Browser Run on Cloudflare Workers.
Browser Run is Cloudflare’s service to run browsers on its network. Developers access it through application programming interfaces (APIs) and Playwright inside Workers, rather than as a separate app.
Cloudflare said Kitesurf is built for software that navigates websites, takes screenshots, extracts HyperText Markup Language (HTML), and fills out forms.
Instead of user-facing features such as tabs or extensions, it focuses on context handling, performance, token costs, scalability, and protection against prompt injection.
Cloudflare said it built Kitesurf in 12 weeks using components including Blitz, Firefox’s Stylo, and Boa JS.
The company also said the browser passes more than 215,000 web platform tests, which measure compatibility across browser implementations.
