Chinese fitness platform said to cut jobs amid financial woes

Keep, a major online fitness platform in China, is reportedly cutting over 100 jobs to reduce costs.

As of June this year, Keep employed 920 full-time staff. The job cuts will affect employees in the online, international, and marketing divisions, with their last working day set for November 29.

Other cost-saving measures include stopping the provision of free tissue paper for staff.

These developments come as Keep faces financial difficulties, mirroring broader economic challenges in China as consumer spending on non-essential services has dropped.

Keep has been scaling back its offline operations, closing nine gym outlets in Guangzhou by March and shutting down remaining locations in Beijing and Shanghai by October.
