In brief: Parenting portal theAsianparent to jump into ecommerce
- The startup behind parenting portal theAsianparent, which has close to 13 million active users, is set to launch an ecommerce venture that targets mothers this year.
- “If you put two and two together, you can look at Babytree or some of our biggest comparable companies in the world and see what they do with content communities and commerce. And you can have a guess on what we’re planning,” said Tickled Media CEO and founder Roshni Mahtani.
- Chinese company Babytree is the operator behind Meitun Mama, a parenting portal and ecommerce site that sells maternity and childcare products.
