New Hitman film, Agent 47, will be shot in Singapore

Has someone put a hit out on the Merlion? An announcement by Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed that the new Hitman film, Agent 47, will be shot in Singapore.

Agent 47 is not a sequel to 2007’s Hitman, but rather a reboot of the video game movie. The titular assassin will be played by Rupert Friend this round. While Hitman was centered around the titular hitman of the video game series, played by actor Timothy Olyphant, no details have been revealed about Agent 47’s storyline.

According to Singapore’s Today newspaper, filming is scheduled to begin on April 30. I’m guessing Marina Bay Sands is definitely going to be involved, or at least, a shiny, swanky location like Mount Faber’s Jewel Box.

Agent 47 will also star Zachary Quinto, who is best known for playing Spock in the new Star Trek movies.
