SNK Playmore has released iOS and Android versions of their hit game, King of Fighters ‘97 (KOF97).
Purportedly a perfect port of the original NeoGeo game, the game has additional features like a Bluetooth multiplayer mode, the Affinity System, and the Extra and Advanced modes of play.
Advanced mode includes more jump attacks, and encourages offensive play, while Extra mode encourages evasive moves. The KOF97 mobile port allows for play with the classic four buttons, but includes a six button control scheme that introduces a dumbed down way to perform supers: the ‘SP’ button.
Also in line with making the game more accessible is the Affinity System, which helps select the members of your team according to their affinity, and allows you to view their pre-match interactions. NeoGeo KOF97’s hidden characters are also available on the character select screen.
The KOF97 port was released yesteday and retails for 400 yen / $3.99 on both the App Store and Google Play.
