Go-Jek unveils new driver benefits program

Go-Jek formally unveiled its benefits package for Singaporean private-car drivers today, following the reveal of several perks in partnership with other service providers over recent weeks.

Named GoalBetter, the program offers earnings protection insurance provided by Gigacover, fuel discounts offered by Esso and DBS, and medical consultations from Doctor Anywhere.

Among other perks provided through GoalBetter is the ability for drivers to make unlimited withdrawals of their earnings, at any time and with no minimum amount.

They’ll also be rewarded S$10 (US$7.39) for returning items that passengers have accidentally left behind in their cars under the company’s lost-and-found policy – double the previous S$5 (US$3.69) reward.

Select drivers will be able to sign up for GoalBetter from April 1, before the package is rolled out to all of the company’s Singaporean drivers from June.

Go-Jek has also established a “driver community and innovation program” called GoBlazers, which will allow those who join and sign a non-disclosure agreement to be among the first to test out “new ride-hailing products […] and features by Go-Jek” in the field, the company said. Around 20 drivers have joined GoBlazers to date.

Go-Jek’s archrival in the city-state, Grab, also offers a range of benefits to its drivers, including earnings protection insurance, personal accident insurance, fuel and vehicle maintenance discounts, and scholarships for family members.

Last week, Grab announced driver insurance policies in partnership with ZhongAn, as well as micro-loans for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
