Tnex CEO Bryan Carroll will step down from his post at the end of the month and move to the Vietnam-based digital bank’s board, according to an announcement on LinkedIn.
In 2019, Carroll co-founded Tnex as the digital banking arm of Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank. The digibank said it’s now serving over 1.6 million customers.
It’s unclear who will replace Carroll as the top executive. Other founders of Tnex include David Jimenez Maireles, who is also chief experience officer and deputy CEO, and Nga Pham Thi Nguyet, who serves as chief data scientist and deputy CEO.

In 2022, Tnex was named the best digital-only bank in Vietnam at The Asian Banker Vietnam Awards after securing 500,000 retail and 15,000 SME mobile banking customer registrations.
In an earlier interview with Tech in Asia, Carroll said Tnex aims to be profitable by 2025.
