THAILAND – 17 June 2024 – Carbonwize, a leading Thai’s decarbonization platform, is announcing its strategic partnership with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) to launch a carbon management platform for listed companies.

This initiative aims to significantly improve the process of greenhouse gas reporting among the more than 840 companies listed on the SET. It aligns with the global mission to achieve Net Zero emissions by streamlining data collection, calculation, and reporting processes.

SET reveals that only half of the listed companies have been submitting their greenhouse gas emissions reports, and just a third of these reports were undergoing verification. This gap is largely attributed to the complexities of carbon calculation, data collection, and high costs.

Carbonwize is addressing these challenges by providing a user-friendly platform that simplifies carbon accounting and reporting. It categorizes data by industry type, provides automatic calculations, generates compliant reports and facilitates data verification by auditors. The report will then be used to compile with ’56-1 One Report’ known as the annual disclosure report required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Companies can benefit from utilizing the report to demonstrate transparency and environmental responsibility, establish climate policies and foster trust among stakeholders and investors.

On June 4,2024, Carbonwize and SET conducted a kickoff workshop under the “SET Carbon” sandbox with 20 listed companies across eight business industries. The parties scheduled for the huge onboarding next year.

“The launch not only marks a significant milestone for us but sets a new standard for Thai industry. It paves the way for 840 listed companies to embark on their Net Zero journeys, it opens up a groundbreaking opportunity to extend our reach to their supply chains and over 700,000 private companies and SMEs in Thailand,” said Natalie Lerthatasilp, CEO of Carbonwize.

“Measuring carbon emissions is just the initial step towards Net Zero missions. The emissions insights provided by the platform enable companies to identify emission hotspots and plan effective decarbonization strategies. Our major step forward is to help companies take action and transition into low-carbon operations,” Natalie added.

Carbonwize also collaborates with financial institutions including UOB and solution providers to cover a full decarbonization journey. The startup aims to leverage the successful initiative to expand its impact across Southeast Asia in the upcoming year.
