Venture accelerator Brinc acquires South Korea’s Next Stage

Brinc, a global venture accelerator, has entered the South Korean market by acquiring Next Stage Venture Studio.

This acquisition aims to enhance Brinc’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and support early-stage startups.

Next Stage Venture Studio was founded in early 2024 by Jinho Bae and Jonathan Moore, who have experience with Techstars, a global accelerator program.

Brinc’s operations in South Korea will focus on helping local startups access international funding and mentorship networks.

The company plans to offer early-stage investments, global market-entry programs, and opportunities for corporate collaboration.

Brinc operates globally with hubs in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and North America.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ South Korea’s accelerator ecosystem shows dynamic growth amid government support

Brinc’s expansion into South Korea occurs amid significant growth in the country’s accelerator landscape, which has become increasingly competitive and sophisticated.

Seoul alone hosts 97% of South Korea’s accelerators, making it the concentrated hub of startup support in the country 1.

The government has taken an active role in developing this ecosystem, exemplified by the recently announced K-Startup Grand Challenge 2025, which offers ₩950 million ($633,000) in equity-free funding for international startups entering the Korean market 2.

This government-backed program demonstrates Korea’s commitment to attracting global innovation, providing structured pathways from market exploration to growth phases spanning nearly a year.

Korean accelerators have evolved to address specific pain points, with many focusing on facilitating global expansion for local startups, which aligns with Brinc’s cross-border capabilities.

The competitive environment includes established players like SparkLabs Seoul offering up to $40,000 in funding and access to 150+ international mentors, while Samsung C-Lab provides up to $100,000 and valuable corporate connections 3.

2️⃣ Cross-border acceleration represents an established pattern in Brinc’s growth strategy
