Bravely Default: For The Sequel gets new demo and a stamina system

Oh god, the stamina system is getting everywhere. Good ol’ Reggie Fils-Amie just announced that Bravely Default: For The Sequel will have a form of stamina known as Sleep Points.

These Sleep Points can be used during battle to equip better items, revive or heal party members, or do special attacks. Sleep Points are capped at three per player, and can be refilled via a potion sold on the eShop.

You can purchase this potion without interrupting the game, and according to Reggie, it’s not supposed to make the game pay-to-win.

A new Bravely Default demo will also be hitting the eShop on January 2. It’s a completely free side story that won’t be available in the main game. While working towards the restoration of a village, the player will be able to experience the game’s combat and different jobs. He’ll also be able to earn item packs that can be transferred into the main game, and collect up to 20 street pass tags.

Bravely Default is launching on February 7, 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS.
