bouncity-sixreps-priceareaEchelon, a yearly event conducted by e27 is just about a month away. As part of the program, the folks at e27 held their satellite events over the past few months in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong. 40 start-ups battled it out in front of the judges and finally the names are out.

Bouncity, PriceArea and SixReps are part of the 11 startups representing Indonesia in the main event at Singapore. We had a quick interview with Kevin Osmond & Natali Ardianto of Bouncity, Andry of PriceArea and Denny Santoso of SixReps.

1. How do you feel about winning this chance to represent start-ups in Indonesia to pitch in front of angel investors, VCs and journalists?

KO of Bouncity: Great. We see this as a good opportunity to have direct feedback from the great line of judges. Secondly, this will be a good opportunity as well for us to have a greater exposure in regional level, as a startup and as Indonesians.

NA of Bouncity: We are really honored to be selected as the top 10 startups of the Southeast Asia region to represent Indonesia in this amazing event that has become a benchmark for a successful startups. We are hoping that this event will help boost Indonesians local startups which are apparently rising for the past couple of years.

AN of PriceArea: Honestly, it’s a mixed feelings. At this moment, I’m very much excited to have a chance to pitch PriceArea at Echelon and honored to be counted as one of the top start-ups in Indonesia.

DS of SixReps: I feel this is a great opportunity for us to get more exposure about our start-up. SixReps itself is in the middle of a possible joint venture with one of the biggest company in US in the fitness niche, but we are still happy to present to explore more about partnership. We’re not looking for money but more for localized business partner so we can make money together.

2. What were you doing when you knew that you won the chance to pitch?

NA of Bouncity: We were actually preparing Bouncity for our launch on 8th of June at @AtAmerica, Pacific Place Jakarta, and getting ready for the Indonesia International Communication Expo and Conference at Jakarta Convention Center at 8 – 12 June. It’s so amazing because we rarely held big meeting and the timing is just right. We were all yelling, tweeting and congratulating Kevin Osmond and the team.

AN of PriceArea: I was in my office having discussion with my lead developer when the email notification from Sabrina popped up. Right after, I forwarded the good news to everyone at the office.

DS of SixReps: I was relaxing in my bedroom, watching a DVD, checking my email and then I got the news from Echelon.

3. Before you knew you won, do you really think that you will get the chance?

NA of Bouncity: We are really confident with our product, and looking at the big brands that we have for the launch event, it adds more certainty. One of the judges for Echelon Satellite Indonesia, Satya Witoelar, the founder of Koprol which was acquired by Yahoo said that our product will be big, even bigger than Koprol, We were flabbergasted.

AN of PriceArea: My confidence level went up after winning the people’s choice award at Echelon Indonesia satellite. So the answer is yes.
