Animoca Brands, Play Ventures, Shima Capital, Hustle Fund, and Oceans Ventures also took part in the financing.

Thirdwave provides Web3 companies, projects, protocols, and decentralized autonomous organizations with blockchain data. This includes on-chain activity, customer data, social channel information, website analytics, and industry benchmarks. It aims to provide game developers and Web3 builders with a deeper understanding of the market.

The company’s co-founders, Peter Jonas and Matt Lorenzen, previously worked at Facebook, where they both focused on the tech giant’s game and mobile app division.

Thirdwave will use the latest investment to further develop its discovery engine, particularly its scaling and data features.

“Blockchain offers game developers and players shared ownership and as a result true alignment for the first time,” said Jonas. “Despite this incredible opportunity in front of the industry much of the infrastructure needed for developers to be successful has yet to be built – this is where Thirdwave comes in.”
