Blackstone, SoftBank said to eye investment in Indian AI startup
Blackstone and SoftBank are in early talks to invest in Neysa Networks, an Indian startup providing cloud infrastructure for AI.
Blackstone may take a majority stake, while SoftBank could take a minority position, but no decisions are finalized and other investors might join.
Founded in 2023 by Sharad Sanghi and Anindya Das, Neysa has raised about US$50 million from Z47 and Nexus Venture Partners.
The potential deal could value Neysa at under US$300 million, with new investors possibly providing additional capital for expansion.
Global investors are increasing spending on data centers to support AI growth, with moves from Brookfield, Digital Realty, Reliance Industries, Google, and Adani in India.
Blackstone already invests in Indian digital infrastructure through Lumina CloudInfra and AirTrunk, which plans a new facility in the country.
