Hello reader,
Crypto influencers have taken off in Indonesia in the past few years. They share investment tips and recommendations, with some even launching trading classes.
One of the most well-known figures in the country is Timothy Ronald, who has more than 2 million followers on Instagram. Recently, he ran into trouble after being accused of fraud linked to a crypto academy he had founded.
The case is still under investigation, but regardless, crypto’s popularity in Indonesia continues to rise steadily, driven in large part by influencers.

Also in this issue, my colleague Miguel dives into the 2024 financials of Nium. The Singapore-based fintech firm recorded a solid revenue bump, but its loss before tax remained roughly flat.
Even so, the company recorded its first EBITDA-positive month in July 2025. Miguel’s story goes into detail about how the unicorn achieved this and what its future may hold.
