Indonesian fitness startup closes funding round led by Gobi-Agung

Doogether, an Indonesian booking startup for fitness and sports classes, raised an undisclosed sum in a funding round led by Gobi Partners‘ local early-stage fund Gobi-Agung, a new investor.

The seed investment also included participation from Indonesia-based investors Everhaus, Prasetia Dwidharma, and Cana Asia: all new investors, according to a statement.

Doogether, which gives consumers access to fitness centers and sports facilities through its mobile apps, intends to use proceeds from the funding to expand its merchant partner network, hire more professionals, and further develop its mobile platform.

“We will maximise the funds to extend our merchant partners to at least 500 sports facilities and improve our platform to accommodate other needs of a healthy lifestyle enthusiast, and be the biggest healthy lifestyle community in Indonesia,” said Doogether CEO Fauzan Gani.

Prior to the current round, Doogether received early-stage funding from MAHAKA Group Chairman Erick Thohir in 2016. Former Indosat CEO and Founder of Digiasia Bios Alexander Rusli also previously invested in the company.

In October 2018, Gobi Partners launched Gobi-Agung Fund, a US$10 million venture fund focused on startups in Indonesia.
