In brief: Alibaba forms strategic tie-up with US office supply retailer
- Office Depot and Alibaba.com announced a strategic collaboration aimed at helping small businesses in the US to “tap into a global B2B commerce market that is worth US$23.9 trillion,” the companies said in a statement.
- Initially, the duo will offer a co-branded online B2B portal on Alibaba.com that makes it easier for US businesses to access “one of the world’s largest catalogs of goods and manufacturing capabilities.” There are plans to expand services to include logistics and sales channels in the near future.
- Both companies are making an investment in marketing to drive adoption of the platform and services.
