Product search engine BigGo bags $5m in series A round
BigGo, a product search engine and price comparison platform based in Taiwan, has raised US$5 million in a series A round to enter new markets.
Investors in the round include Silicon Valley VC firm SOSV, blockchain- and fintech-focused Kyber Capital, and Uni-President, which owns 7-Eleven in Taiwan.

Founded in 2016, BigGo’s business includes price comparison, cashback, and price history tracking services that support international ecommerce platforms. It also offers an internet browser extension called BigGo Helper which automatically displays available discount codes, much like US-based Honey.
The startup said it plans to use the new funds to further develop its product and continue expanding internationally in markets such as Thailand, Japan, and EU countries, according to a statement.
In November 2018, BigGo started its expansion with the launch of BigGo Thai, which recently partnered with local news and media platform Thairath to accelerate its growth in the market. The company also launched BigGo Japan in August and formed a strategic alliance with Japanese ecommerce consultant BlueGoose.
“In 2020, we expect to see a 300% increase in revenue from this year. We also expect a substantial increase in users from 11 million to 25 million users,” said BigGo CEO Kevin Yen. The company claims it currently sells more than 4,500 Shopee orders a day, reaching a daily peek of 10,000 orders.
In 2017, BigGo graduated from the third batch of SOSV’s mobile internet-focused MOX accelerator. The startup is Uni-President’s second investment in an internet company after backing Sea Group in 2017.
