Crayon Data is one of a number of tech ventures that focuses on ‘big data’ and analytics. Now the startup is going one step further to become an information hub around big data and analytics for anyone and everyone that has same interest.
That’s why the Singaporean-Indian startup has launched a useful site called Big Data Made Simple (pictured below). According to Crayon Data’s founder, Srikant Sastri, the new site will try achieve two things – demystifying the world of big data for better understanding and access; and secondly, tracking big data technology trends for a broad spread of users.
It’s aimed at Asian readers, particularly decision makers across enterprises, organizations, tech startups, industry analysts, students, and academicians. Looking to be the first of its kind in the region, the new web portal covers a wide range of big data issues that includes articles, events, videos, announcements across sectors, companies, and technologies. It already covers big data issues across 20 verticals from aerospace to travel, hospitality to education.

The Big Data Made Simple site itself uses the latest data aggregation technology for collating and categorizing information from numerous sources, and simplifies the information for visitors.
Big Data Made Simple is integrated with popular social networking sites and allows readers to share, interact, discuss, and engage so as to have interesting dialogues focused on big data and analytics. It also has a newsletter.
Of course, Crayon Data has its own interest in spreading the gospel of big data, and indeed the new news site will have its user-base analyzed so as to find potential customers, or it might target users with its newsletter, marketing, or promotional materials. No free lunch, huh.
