Big Mac Sushi Roll, from Epic Meal Time
Next Time Productions, the folks doing their best to overdose you on bacon and cheese on their Epic Meal Time YouTube channel, are partnering with a Japanese media company to produce ‘Epic Meal Time Japan’ for both domestic and global consumption. For those not familiar with Epic Meal Time, check out the maximum mac and cheese cake below as just one example of their style of cuisine.
Next Time Productions will cooperate with entertainment conglomerate Yoshimoto Kogyo, a company that dates all the way back to 1912 when it was a traditional theatre. The company’s US CEO, Aki Yorihiro commented:
We are thrilled to be developing content with Harley and Darren and the crew from NextTime Productions. Clearly they have their finger on the pulse of next generation creative, and we feel this collaboration will generate both unique and textured Japan-centric EpicMealTime digital episodes and new shows and formats for their and our audiences to enjoy.
It remains to be seen exactly what kind of format EMT Japan will take. If it goes on Japanese TV, where there are already no shortage of food shows, I can’t imagine the show could keep its edge. But I’m looking forward to see what comes out of this deal for sure, given that they have dabbled in sushi multiple times already.
The Epic Meal Time YouTube channel has 2.7 million subscribers to date, and their most popular videos have surpassed 13 million views.
Damn, I wish my 3DS was region-free!! I’m coming back with a robot, anybody else want anything? http://t.co/Zz3ZS8uU
