IDCloudHost secures $5m from Bukalapak founder Achmad Zaky’s Init 6

Indonesia-based cloud service provider IDCloudHost has secured US$5 million from Init 6, an investment company founded by Bukalapak’s Achmad Zaky.

Launched in 2015, IDCloudHost offers services such as cloud hosting, object storage, domain handling, and dedicated server creation for startups, small businesses, corporations, and individual developers. It currently has data centers across the world with updated technology and features for website and application needs.

To date, the startup says it has served over 100,000 customers from Indonesia and several other countries in Asia. Some of its customers include Telkom Indonesia, Mandiri Capital, J&T Express, Sucofindo, among others.

IDCloudHost plans to use the new funds to bolster its technology and expand human resources.

Muhammad Mufid Luthfi, the company’s chief marketing officer, noted that the Covid-19 pandemic has sped up digital transformation across several sectors. “The ever-growing digital ecosystem is an opportunity as well as a challenge for us to produce innovative products tailored to the needs of the growing market,” he added.

In 2019, the startup acquired Paas.id, a provider of SSD (solid-state drives) hosting, virtual private servers, and domains. The move was aimed at widening IDCloudHost’s business coverage as well as help small and medium-sized enterprises digitize their business.
