Baidu’s Apollo Go, UAE mobility firm partner for driverless fleet
Baidu’s autonomous ride-hailing service, Apollo Go, has partnered with UAE-based Autogo to deploy what is expected to be the largest fleet of driverless vehicles in Abu Dhabi.
Initial trials with dozens of autonomous vehicles will begin in select areas, with full commercial operations planned by 2026.
The partnership will work with Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre to ensure regulatory compliance and support the city’s smart mobility goals.
Apollo Go, China’s largest robotaxi platform, has expanded internationally, offering fully driverless rides in over 10 Chinese cities since February 2025 and securing a pilot license in Hong Kong in late 2024.
The service has completed 150 million kilometers of safe driving and 10 million rides globally, providing an all-electric, on-demand transport option to help reduce emissions and ease traffic congestion.
This collaboration strengthens Abu Dhabi’s smart city initiatives and sets the stage for expanding autonomous mobility services in the region.
