Baidu’s ‘Map of Love’ Lets People Pin a Valentine’s Message, or Find a Date

Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) has got itself into the spirit of Valentine’s Day and created a special “map of love” using both its mobile and desktop maps service.
It allows anyone to pin a Valentine’s message to the map, whether you’re a single lady (denoted by the pink pins), a lonesome guy (blue pins), or a doting couple (the white pin with an apt heart in the middle). Currently the maps are somewhat over-run with date-less guys: of nearly 60,000 messages so far, 35,000 are blue (pictured above).
To add a pin, just click the “I want to make a mark” button, then attach it to a certain location, and then add a message in any language, as pictured below:

Some of the more interesting comments from single lads include one guy in Suzhou who laments, “Have no lover on lover’s day;” and a man in Shanghai jokes, “I want to find the head of the household.” Meanwhile one rather cheekily opportunistic plastic surgery clinic in Shanghai has posed as a man and posted its address and phone-number, perhaps hoping to catch the attention of any girl who’s desperate enough to be browsing through guys on this.
Give the map of love a go for yourself: in a desktop browser, or on your mobile.
