most of the new furniture ecommerce startups I've seen get around the warehousing aspect by either building or buying everything to order. Lead time of 4 to 7 weeks. Great for the startup, sucks for the consumer.With full vertical integration I'm sure one of these guys will bubble up to become "the next IKEA" and that's a compelling enough proposition for investors to keep pumping in $500k bets.
