AC Ventures, SiCepat pour $5m into Indonesian beauty startup

Indonesia-based Nama Beauty has raised US$5 million in seed funding led by AC Ventures. Digital Mediatama Maxima, a publicly listed trading and advertising company, and logistics firm SiCepat Ekspres also participated in the round.

Established in 2019, Nama Beauty is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand that offers cosmetics, skincare, and beauty products. It was founded by Luna Maya – a well-known influencer and entertainer in Indonesia – and Marcel Lukman, who has experience in the retail business.

As part of the investment, SiCepat Ekspres will help Nama Beauty deliver its products, according to a statement. The startup can also access Digital Mediatama Maxima’s offline retail network and advertising space.

Nama Beauty plans to use the fresh funds to recruit talent, boost marketing, and launch a new second-line brand.
