Founded in 2016 by Nigel Hembrow, former director at Rayjon Group, Astronaut is a mobile-first platform that can help companies effectively pick candidates from a larger pool of applicants. It has screened more than 150,000 candidates as of July 2021, with 50% of these done amid the pandemic.

The company says that it has increased its clients by 30% in Indonesia, Singapore, and India in the second quarter of this year. It counts Gojek, BCA, Boston Consulting Group, and Korn Ferry as its clients.

Meanwhile, PopSkul is a platform that allows users to get certificates for their skills. The company partnered with existing competency certification bodies to release certificates for its users. Founded by Chandra Marsono in 2020, the company has acquired a thousand users in its first three months.

Astronaut says that it is now raising US$2 million for its pre-series A round, which it plans to use in accelerating the company’s growth via tech innovation and partnerships in Indonesia and Singapore.
