Shanghai-based Paymax is hoping to bring China’s blue-collar and service industry workers around to the idea of taking out loans for some smaller purchases. It currently focuses on people buying mobile phones and tablets, and it recently expanded to cover buyers of the Apple Watch.
2. Lepaskunci | Indonesia (Techlist Profile)
Lepaskunci is an online marketplace for renting vehicles and chauffer services in Indonesia. The model differs from ridesharing apps because it’s not an on-demand service. Instead, users select and drive the cars themselves. The site offers users the option to browse by city, vehicle preference, and also specify the duration of time for their rentals.
3. Infinium Robotics | Singapore (Techlist Profile)
Singapore-based Infinium Robotics is a startup that specializes in indoor drone technology. It has already partnered with local restaurant and bar chain Timbre to pilot a robotic waitering system called Infinium-Serve. It will become fully operational at five eateries by the end of the year.
4. Treebo | India (Techlist Profile)
Bangalore-based hotel startup Treebo offers a chain of affordable and quality hotels to travellers. It partners with small, standalone hotels to improve their customer service quality and marketing efforts.
5. Mapme | Israel (Techlist Profile)
Mapme allows users to input location-based content based on themes, such as startup ecosystems. Currently, the platform has everything from the global community of 3D printing startups to the cycling community in Austin, Texas.
6. Goodservice | India (Techlist Profile)
Goodservice, a Delhi-based concierge app, offers on-demand services to users through chat. The app acts as a personal secretary and assists in finding services that range from electricians and plumbers to booking movie tickets and getting doctor’s appointments.
7. Hottab | Vietnam (Techlist Profile)
