1. Cashlez | Indonesia (Startup Profile)
Indonesia local payments startup Cashlez developed a card reader that’s more versatile and easier to use than a traditional electronic draft capture (EDC). It connects to an app which merchants install on their phone. It accepts all kind of cards from different banks, from debit to Visa and Mastercard.
2. Ballr | Singapore (Startup Profile)
Launching next month, Ballr offers a social, smartphone-based fantasy sport experience for soccer. Instead of betting money, the app will track down up to 10 people within 100 meters to play against. The players that win get virtual beers. Prizes for those who decide to play worldwide – against around 5 million people – include tickets, a trip to meet the team, and possibly cars.
3. Meesho | India (Startup Profile)
Bangalore-based Meesho wants to become the platform for small businesses to run their stores online on Facebook and WhatsApp effectively. To close a sale, the seller can share a payment link on WhatsApp and accept payments by all major digital payment methods in India.
Meesho also runs some tools for analytics.
4. 6hourly | India
6hourly is a startup that seeks to provide bargain travellers with discounted hourly rate from reputable hotels.
5. Buttercups | India (Startup Profile)
Buttercups was the first lingerie brand to introduce the concept of a fitting room with trained staff in India. That proved a winner for it as 90 percent of women who visit the room turn into customers.The startup sources lace and other material from Hong Kong and manufactures its lingerie there. Currently, Buttercups lingerie is sold only in India.
6. Appknox | Singapore (Startup Profile)
Appknox can check how secure an app is by testing it in an online virtual environment. All it needs is the app’s URL in the app store. The tech analyzes the app’s vulnerabilities and offers suggestions on how to fix them.
