INDONESIA, 4 December 2025— Arrow Electronics, a global provider of technology solutions, and the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (“BRIN”) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on electronics engineering research, innovation, and design-focused initiatives, marking a significant step forward in supporting electronics and technology development for mutual benefit and progress in Indonesia.

According to the Global AI Index 2024 data released by Tortoise Media, Indonesia, which is ranked 49th out of 83 countries, still needs to strengthen in terms of digital infrastructure, AI ecosystem development, and government strategy.

To enhance collaboration in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and foster an inclusive and sustainable digital transformation ecosystem in Jakarta’s industrial sector, the LOI was signed at a technology seminar at the Industry 4.0 Digital Center (PIDI 4.0) in South Jakarta, hosted by Arrow and several technology suppliers. The event brought together more than 70 industry pioneers and customers to explore the future of electrification, AI, and IoT, showcasing solutions that enable next-generation connectivity and smarter systems.

The LOI outlines both parties’ intention to cooperate on mutually agreed projects, including the provision of free samples of electronic components, evaluation boards, and reference solutions. The cooperation may also include joint research and development, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and the exchange of electronics and technical information.

“This agreement underscores Arrow’s dedication to driving innovation and empowering Indonesia’s electronics engineering community. Through collaboration, we aim to support local innovators and technology companies as they build a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable future,” said Dr. Raphael Salmi, President of Arrow Electronics’ components business for South Asia, Korea and Japan.

Dr. Mulyadi Sinung Harjono, Director for Utilization of Research and Innovation by Industry – BRIN, added, “BRIN welcomes this collaboration with Arrow, which will help drive research excellence and technological advancement in Indonesia. We look forward to exploring new opportunities that benefit both organizations and the broader community.”
