AppWorks reveals the 18 startups from its latest batch

AI and blockchain-focused startup enabler AppWorks has unveiled the 18 startups from the latest run of its accelerator program, AW#19.

Based in Taiwan, AppWorks invites up to 40 founders from Greater Southeast Asia every six months to join its program. It connects founders with its network of more than 60 mentors and 1,044 alumni founders in various verticals.

According to a statement, a total of four blockchain startups and 14 companies focused on AI and internet of things were selected to pitch during the accelerator’s demo day today. Six of the founders hailed from Taiwan, while the others came from around the world and Greater Southeast Asia.

Here are the startups from AW#19:

• Telepod is a Singapore-based urban mobility startup with a network of swappable battery kiosks.
• Matters is a Hong Kong blockchain startup that offers a platform for content providers to monetize their work.
• Beseye is a Taiwanese video analysis platform for security cameras.
• Self Token is a startup from Taiwan that creates digital assets through Ethereum smart contracts.
• WeavAir is a Chilean smart sensors and analytics company that has projects with 12 clients in Southeast Asia.
• Arical is an AI-backed real estate investment predictive analytics platform from Hong Kong.
• Fourcons is an Indonesian startup operating an AI-driven platform for finding, verifying, and managing construction equipment.
• Blyng is an AI virtual assistant developer from France that has clients in Europe and the Greater Southeast Asia.
• OnGrad is a career development and workforce transition platform from Hong Kong.
• KaChick is a Hong Kong-based startup that has built a platform for sourcing authentic photography.
• Dent&Co is a Taiwanese medical services AI chatbot.
• Fluv is a pet care platform for local pet parents and sitters.
• Mellow is a Hong Kong-based startup that has built an app that helps young people and families manage finances.
• Dapp Pocket is a Taiwanese startup that offers a crypto wallet for blockchain app users.
• Portto is a startup from Taiwan that aims to make the know-your-customer and onboarding processes for using blockchain simpler.
• Whoopee Robot is a Taiwanese AI and IoT startup that developed a controller for robot arms in the service industry.
• SparkAmplify is an AI-backed press service.
• Gigvvy Science is a New Zealand-based startup that operates an AI platform for science research publishing.

AppWorks said its ecosystem now has a total of 376 active startups and 1,113 founders. It also claims that its alumni have raised a total of US$1.1 billion, seeing a 36% year-on-year growth and a total valuation of US$4.72 billion, up 29% from the previous year.
