Appoi App Makes an Entertainment Calendar from Your Facebook Likes

Here’s a fun now app for you to test out heading into a lazy weekend of TV. It’s called Appoi, and was developed by Appoi Inc based out of Tokyo and San Francisco. This Android application generates a sort of entertainment calendar for you based on your Facebook likes, and gives you social recommendations from what your friends are liking.

I gave the app a brief run using my wife’s Android handset while she was looking in another direction [1]. And sure enough, upon installing Appoi, a calendar was generated. Now, the resultant calendar did look pretty interesting. Although there were some additions on there that were somewhat puzzling, such as MLS soccer – because I’m skeptical as to whether anyone, let alone my wife, has ever ‘liked’ MLS soccer [2].

So lets hypothetically say that I did want to watch me some MLS soccer. All I need to do is click on the event, and then add it to my calendar (see screenshots below). What I like about the app is that you have an option to connect your Google Calendar, which I personally depend upon quite heavily.

All soccer jokes aside [3], the app looks promising. It’s reminiscent of the ConcertCrowd Facebook app that does something similar with your favorite music.

You can check out their promo video below. Give Appoi a try and let us know what you think in the comments.
