Apple Starts Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief in U.S

Apple became the latest company to launch a Japan earthquake and tsunami donation campaign. On Apple.com, a button for the Japan earthquake relief linked to iTunes can be found at the bottom of the page. I can’t access the donation page initially but soon realized that the link only works for U.S citizens. Out of curiosity, I did a search and found that the Los Angeles Times has also written on Apple’s effort. Full credit to LA Times for the screenshot as well.

Big or small, donors can make an effort to donate starting from just $5.00. The donation amount will be given to the American Red Cross’ Japan earthquake and tsunami relief fund.

For non-U.S citizens, you could also play a part by donating through Groupon Japan or Globalgiving.org. On Globalgiving, over 9,000 donations were made so far adding up to $530,000 donations in total. The project is still short of $319,000. It would be great if more of us could contribute. If you prefer to donate items, Alibaba offers tents and flashlights. As part of Alibaba’s goodwill, AliExpress will ship these items to Japan at no cost.
