App Annie Gets Sexier with Enhanced Features and New Mobile App

Most app publishers are no stranger to the App Annie service. For those who are new to the company, it is a data analytics tool that better facilitates the tracking and analyzing of your app data by aggregating all the information from the platforms you have published on. It then presents the information on a visual web dashboard, making it easy to identify trends and gain deeper insights. Its latest update includes:

  1. Analytics API integration: This is catered to companies looking to extract their iOS App Store, Google Play, Mac App store, and Amazon app market data into their customized databases. With this set of APIs, it allows app publishers to have deeper integration with their data.
  2. Hourly rankings: App publishers can now track hour-by-hour ranks for their apps on the app stores, so you can better see the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns and how other apps in the same space are faring.
  3. App sharing: This allows users to keep co-workers and clients updated with the latest analytics data. In App Annie’s words, it “lets you get the right information to the right people”.

App Annie Mobile AppAnd because we’re pretty much mobile these days and would like to find out how our app is doing while on-the-go, the new mobile app puts the analytics into developers’ pockets – you can have access to data such as the number of downloads, revenue figures, in-app purchases, reviews, ratings, and ranking histories.

The company hopes that it will help app publishers “make better, smarter decisions and take their apps to the next level,” says Bertrand Schmitt, CEO of the Sino-US startup. And this has also been validated by a developer on the platform called PlayFirst. Becky Ann Hughes, VP of marketing and product management at Playfirst says:

[…] With a variety of views, we can quickly and easily understand what’s happening with our products from a download or revenue perspective, which gives us the feedback we need to help evaluate the success of a product or marketing campaign.

For app publishers keen to try App Annie’s new mobile app can get it on the Apple iTunes store here. The Android version will be available later this year. If you would like to find out more information regarding the new App Annie API, you can visit here.
