Japan-based ecommerce enabler adds $29.4m in funding cart

AnyMind Group, a Japan-based startup that offers end-to-end services for brand-building, has secured US$29.4 million in its series D round. The fundraise saw participation from existing investor Mitsubishi UFJ Capital and new investor JIC Venture Growth Investments. The firm also received a US$7.2 million credit facility from Mizuho Bank.

The fresh funds will be used to strengthen the company’s move into the commerce enablement space and to finance future mergers and acquisitions.

The firm offers technology for publishing, manufacturing, logistics, ecommerce, and marketing. Aiming to “make business borderless,” it offers a suite of nine services that covers essential business functions through a streamlined platform.

The company, which entered the market in 2016 with its marketing tech, recently launched an ecommerce platform called AnyX. In 2021, the startup generated a revenue of over US$174 million.

AnyMind operates in 13 markets, with 17 offices across Southeast Asia, India, East Asia, and West Asia, employing over 1,000 staff. The startup was established in Singapore by Kosuke Sogo and Otohiko Kozutsumi, and has raised US$91.7 million to date.

AnyMind received approval in February to list on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers Market. But a month later, the company decided to postpone the IPO due to unfavorable macroeconomic conditions.

The sales enablement market is set to grow to US$11.55 billion by 2031, increasing at a compound annual growth rate of 19.4%.

New investors who have participated in this round include:

  • Japan Post Corporation
  • Nomura Sparx
  • Proto Ventures Corporation.
