Antler’s Indonesian arm will be headquartered in Jakarta. Subir Lohani, former CEO of Rocket Internet-backed Carmudi, will take on the role of partner and country head at Antler Indonesia. Kanta Nandana, an Antler alumni from Singapore who helped Grab expand across Indonesia, also joined the venture capital firm as program director.
“We invest in strong teams and validated business models at an early stage via our six-month programs. Our objective is to support founders to build exceptional teams and help them find the most impactful problems and markets to address,” said Lohani.
Antler said it will kick off its first Indonesia cohort early next year, with applications already open.
Founded in Singapore, Antler has a global presence in 17 locations after recently expanding to Toronto and Ho Chi Minh City. The VC’s portfolio in Southeast Asia includes Reebelo, a marketplace for refurbished electronics; Xanpool, a cryptocurrency payment network; and Sampingan, an Indonesian freelancer platform.
