In the current market, value is mostly pegged against crypto prices, making it volatile, sentiment-driven, and inaccurate. Forkast Labs will be launching its flagship data indices, APIs, and business intelligence products to measure these assets and ensure accurate evaluation for investors.
“The entire industry has been valued against volatile price movements, which has created a high degree of speculation. Trust in crypto has been eroded as a result, but we have the power to change that with this merger,” said Angie Lau, former Bloomberg anchor and Forkast News founder, in a statement.
Lau and CryptoSlam founder Randy Wasinger will be appointed co-CEOs of Forkast Labs. Sarah Chang, Forkast News co-founder, will be COO of the combined entity.
Forkast News raised US$1.7 million in its 2021 seed round while CryptoSlam bagged US$9 million in its strategic seed funding last year. Both firms were founded in 2018 and backed by Animoca Brands.
