Alipay+, the cross-border e-payments solution from Chinese tech giant Ant Group, has expanded to Australia, as announced by its local payments partner ePay Australia.
The development will let 8,000 Australian retailers accept e-wallets such as South Korea’s Kakao Pay and Thailand’s TrueMoney as payment methods.
This integration will make it “easier and more efficient” for Australia-based merchants to engage with Asian consumers, said Danny Chung, general manager of Ant Group Australia, New Zealand, and Korea.
Last month, Philippine fintech firm BillEase partnered with Alipay+ to enable the former’s customers to use buy now, pay later and card-free installments as payment options in global ecommerce platforms.
