In brief: Alibaba makes major business reshuffle amid slowing growth
- Alibaba Group Holding has unveiled a significant business reshuffle as it looks to bolster its investment focus in the face of slowing growth, Reuters reported.
- The company’s chief financial officer, Maggie Wu, will oversee the firm’s strategic investments unit, taking over the responsibility from executive vice-chairman Joe Tsai.
- Freshippo, Alibaba’s supermarket division, will also become a standalone business, while enterprise software unit DingTalk will be merged into the company’s cloud unit.
