Bharti Airtel previously took the lead by claiming that it is going to offer Apple’s iPhone 4 in a couple of months time. No exact date was released from Bharti Airtel’s end. But today, Aircel hits back with a real offer, announcing that it will offer the iPhone 4 on May 27 in India.
Nasdaq reported that Aircel will charge INR34,500 ($763) for iPhones with 16 gigabyte capacity and INR40,900 ($905) for those with 32 gigabyte capacity.
Aircel’s iPhone users will be able to recover the cost in monthly credits in their subscription accounts over 24 months, according to Aircel’s website. The full pricing plan as below (in INR, 1 Indian rupee = 0.0221 U.S. dollars):

For Apple fans in India , the iPhone 4 is available at Aircel stores, Apple stores, Shopper’s stop and Reliance Digital. Apple fans can also call 121 or send Aircel an SMS to 5800 000 (toll free) to fix an appointment for a personalized demonstration at your nearest Aircel Store.
Besides being the first to offer the iPhone 4 in India, Aircel also made news recently by helping Bollywood promote a movie among its 55 million mobile users. It is also Bollywood’s first time to employ a mobile-only promotion strategy for a movie.
