AIMI is a Breastfeeding Association in Indonesia, founded by a group of moms who are willing to share knowledge on breastfeeding. Mind you, it isn’t like any other mommies association out there. AIMI is pretty tech savvy.
Nia, Deputy Chairman of AIMI said BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is the primary communication channel within the association.
The group shares knowledge, organizes meetings, set up appointments and invites other mums for breastfeeding classes with a click of a button, all through BBM. It is that easy to sign up.
As more women reach out for help, Nia said that she is just a PIN away. Members are encouraged to share Nia’s PIN with women who needed help. Communicating through BlackBerry has helped the organization to reach out to younger mums too.
