Chinese ecommerce titan JD.com has approved a special cash dividend of US$0.63 per ordinary share and US$1.26 per American depositary share (ADS), to shareholders. In total, the dividend will amount to nearly US$2 billion.

The dividend is expected to be paid on or around June 8 to ordinary shareholders and June 14 to ADS holders. The dividend to be paid to the company’s ADS holders will be subject to the terms of the deposit agreement, stated JD.com.
“In the long run, we will also consider measures including paying dividends as appropriate from time to time to give back to our shareholders,” said JD.com chairman Richard Qiangdong Liu.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the ecommerce giant swung to a net loss of US$800 million from a net profit of US$3.8 billion a year ago.
