UPDATE: We have found out that the rare Mewtwo can only be obtained in Blitzmegaplex Grand Indonesia.
For the first time ever in Indonesia, you can watch Pokemon on the big screen and catch a rare Mewtwo while you’re at it.
Starting from November 6, Wednesday, Pokemon fans and trainers in Indonesia can watch the latest Pokemon Movie, Genesect and the Legend Awakened and its accompanying short, Pokemon: Eevee and Friends in the Blitzmegaplex, located in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
Do note that the movie will be dubbed in Indonesian, so don’t expect Ash and friends to be speaking English.
In celebration of the movie screening, distributors T-Joy and the Pokemon Company have several events in store for Indonesian Pokemon fans.
A one of a kind event Mewtwo
Exclusively for Blitzmegaplex Grand Indonesia, by selecting the Mystery Gift option on November 6 and 9, during the 11:00, 13:00, 17:00 or 19:00 show, trainers who have Pokemon Black, Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2 or Pokemon White 2 will receive a Timid natured, Hidden Ability Level 100 Mewtwo that comes equipped with a moveset and items not obtainable via the base game alone.
It is kind of odd that they chose to have the Mystery Gift available only to the previous generation of games instead of the present Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, but the event Mewtwo can still be obtained by Pokemon X & Y trainers through trading when the Pokemon Bank software launches at this year’s end.
In the past, Pokemon trainers in Indonesia could only clench their teeth while reading the news about rare or exceptional event Pokemon. Now, they can finally catch ‘em all. For more information about the event Mewtwo and the steps to obtain it, click here.
Special ending song
The famous pop girl group, JKT 48 will be singing their first movie soundtrack song, Mirai no Kajitsu or Fruits of the Future for the movie. This is a sweet bonus for trainers who are also fans of the group.
Pokemon Campaign
In conjunction with the movie, Indonesia-based Japanese convenience store chain Lawson will also be launching their Pokemon Campaign:
Pikachu lovers will be able to meet favorite Pokemon at a special Pikachu store visit on Saturday, November 16. Customers can also also get a Pokemon glass sleeve when they buy a small drink. Finally, you’ll get an original Lawson-Pokemon sticker as a bonus when you buy a certain amount of items
The Pokemon movies will be distributed annually in Indonesia from here on, as confirmed by Mio Kihara, head of Corporate Strategy at T-Joy, in an Indonesian report, so rest assured if you miss out (god forbid!) on any of this; you can always try again next year. But if you love Pokemon, though, there simply is no excuse. I’ll see you there!
