Delhi-based Hopcar, which connects buyers and sellers of used cars, has merged with Delhi-based online used car marketplace Spinny. The new company will operate under Spinny’s name, and Hopcar’s four co-founders – Arijit Biswas, Rahul Thakur, Anish Karan, and Rahul Anad – will join Spinny and become members of its core team.
Spinny, founded in April, evaluates a car via its own checklist that takes 200 points into consideration. It is also working on algorithms that score and price the cars on its site.
“The vision Niraj had for Spinny was very much in line with that of ours for Hopcar,” said Hopcar co-founder Arijit Biswas in a statement.
Hopcar was founded last year.
Spinny plans to expand further in Bangalore and enter into other tier one and tier two cities in India by the end of the year.
