A startup secret agent bagged funding today, while a smartphone pharmacy got some money to make it easier for you to order drugs on your phone. Meanwhile, a sweet acquisition went down in India’s online video industry, and a national rifle shooting medalist showed off his inner Renaissance man by inventing a warehouse processing robot. Intrigued? So are we. Check out our four startup picks of the day.

CareOnGo

Plenty of healthtech connects users with doctors or caretakers. Today, though, pharmacies came into the spotlight with branded phamacy chain CareOnGo raising US$300,000 in a seed round of funding from a group of investors led by Farooq Oomerbhoy, one of the co-founders of the early stage fund Orios Venture Partners. Raj Mishra of Indea Capital and Vineet Ganesh of Imperial India Investment also participated.

CareOnGo is a mobile app that connects users with micro-pharmacies, allowing users to buy medicine from their approved neighborhood pharmacies. People can also use the app to search for cheaper medicine substitutes, order generic pharmaceuticals, set reminders to take prescriptions, and archive invoices. Users can also connect with a dietitian to receive personalized diet plans.

“[The] procurement of genuine and authentic material has become a huge problem in the current retail pharma industry,” said co-founder Yogesh Agarwal in a statement. “CareOnGo not only ensures timely delivery of authentic medicines to its end consumers but also ensures that [a] CareOnGo pharmacy store has the right medicines in stock.”

Founded in September 2015 by Yogesh, Aditya Kandoi, and Ritu Singhl, the startup’s funding will be primarily used to increase the number of co-branded stores to over 150 stores in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. Its plans for expansion to other cities include Mumbai, Chennai, and 11 others.

CareOnGo is currently available for free on Android phones.

Tracxn

A secret agent among startups raised money today, as Tracxn raised an undisclosed amount of money from Infosys ex-CEO Nandan Nilekani and ex-CFO and Aarin Capital co-founder Mohandas Pai, as well as Whatsapp vice president Neeraj Arora.

Anand Rajaraman, the co-founder of Amazon-owned shopping service Junglee, Beenos founder Teruhide Sato, Freshdesk founder and CEO Girish Mathrubootham, and Capillary Technologies co-founder Aneesh Reddy also participated.

Tracxn gathers and compiles information on other startups across several verticals. It makes this information available in turn to its clients – venture capital funds, private equity firms, and corporate development teams – on a subscription basis.

Tracxn was founded in 2013 by Neha Singh and Abhishek Goyal. The company plans to expand to Japan, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Europe
